About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
At Fitzhugh Garden Design, we create bespoke gardens that combine beauty, sustainability, and functionality. With a passion for biodiversity and a commitment to exceptional design, we craft outdoor spaces that enhance both lifestyle and the natural environment.
Our Story
Fitzhugh Garden Design was founded by Elliot Fitzhugh, a Devon-based garden and landscape designer with experience in landscape architecture and a passion for creating thoughtful, characterful outdoor spaces.

Alongside running Fitzhugh Garden Design, Elliot is a lecturer at the Eden Project University Centre, where he is Programme Manager of the HNC/D Garden and Landscape Design Courses. His professional experience spans a wide range of projects, from smaller domestic gardens to larger-scale landscape schemes, working with private clients as well as organisations including the National Trust.

Elliot’s approach is rooted in creating gardens that feel connected to their surroundings. Each design responds to the character of the site, its landscape and ecology, while considering how the space will be used and enjoyed. Biodiversity, sustainability and naturalistic planting are central to the way he works, with a focus on creating gardens that are both beautiful and practical, and that can develop and mature over time.

Whether working on a small urban garden or a larger landscape, Fitzhugh Garden Design aims to create distinctive spaces that feel considered, natural and genuinely connected to their setting.
